89-Year-Old Driver Injured in Crash With Tractor-Trailer in Bristol

An 89-year-old woman was taken to the hospital following a crash involving a tractor-trailer Tuesday afternoon in Ontario County.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened at about 3:38 p.m. at State Route 64 and County Road 2.

According to deputies, 64-year-old Blaine Becker of Harrison Valley, Pennsylvania, was driving a tractor-trailer north on Route 64 when Marcia Rausch of Conesus, who was traveling east on County Road 2, attempted to turn onto Route 64.  Deputies say Rausch’s Chrysler Pacifica collided with the driver’s-side fuel tank of the tractor-trailer.

Rausch was extricated from her vehicle by the Bristol Fire Department and taken by Canandaigua Emergency Squad to Strong Memorial Hospital. Becker was not injured.

Rausch was issued tickets for failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield the right of way.

The crash also resulted in a diesel fuel spill, prompting a response from the state Department of Environmental Conservation. State Police assisted with traffic control.

Route 64 remained closed at the time of the Sheriff’s Office update but was expected to reopen soon.
