bodycam video is circulating online again, showing the aftermath of a 2023 incident in Daytona Beach, Florida, where two young women were accused of aggressively handling and tossing a baby outside a bar.

The video currently resurfacing online is not new.

The incident happened in September 2023 near the Coyote Ugly Saloon on Seabreeze Boulevard in Daytona Beach.

According to police and contemporaneous news reports, witnesses reported seeing two women throwing a baby into the air, flipping the child upside down and tossing the infant back and forth between them.

Police later arrested both women on child-abuse charges.

WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT?

According to the arrest affidavit reported by multiple news organizations, Daytona Beach police responded to a disturbance shortly after midnight on September 14, 2023.

Witnesses told officers that 19-year-old Brianna Lafoe and 20-year-old Sierrah Newell were aggressively handling a baby.

Police said the women were reportedly intoxicated and were throwing the child back and forth from approximately four feet apart.

Witnesses also reported seeing the baby thrown into the air and turned upside down.

The incident reportedly happened outside the Coyote Ugly Saloon in Daytona Beach.

VIDEO PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN THE INVESTIGATION

One witness began recording what was happening.

According to the police affidavit, the video showed the baby being aggressively swung up and down over hard concrete.

Police also reported that the child was allegedly held upside down by the ankles.

The footage was later reviewed by officers as part of the investigation.

A nearby business also had surveillance footage that captured portions of the confrontation.

THE SITUATION ESCALATED

The incident reportedly became even more tense when people attempted to intervene.

According to police, Lafoe confronted a witness who had been recording.

The affidavit said Lafoe allegedly struck the witness and made threats.

Newell, who was using crutches at the time, was also accused of threatening people at the scene.

Witnesses told investigators that the women became more aggressive after people began telling them to stop.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BABY?

The baby was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation.

According to reports based on the police affidavit, the child had red marks on the back.

An X-ray also showed a mark that doctors believed could indicate a broken arm.

The reports said the child was later released from the hospital.

Authorities did not publicly identify the baby’s parents or guardian in the initial reports.

THE WOMEN WERE ARRESTED

Brianna Lafoe and Sierrah Newell were both arrested in connection with the incident.

Both faced child-abuse charges.

Lafoe also faced an additional misdemeanor battery charge related to the alleged confrontation with a witness.

At the time, authorities said both women were under 21 and were allegedly intoxicated.

These were criminal allegations at the time, and an arrest or charge itself is not proof of guilt.

WHY IS THE VIDEO GOING VIRAL AGAIN?

The footage has recently resurfaced across social-media accounts and is being presented by some pages as if it were a new incident.

It isn’t.

The bodycam footage in the circulating clip contains a September 2023 timestamp, and news reports from September 2023 document the same Daytona Beach incident.

A podcast episode published in 2026 also revisited the case and described the two women as having been arrested after police reviewed video of the incident.

So while the video may be new to many viewers, the underlying event happened about three years ago.

THE VIRAL CAPTION CAN BE MISLEADING

Some reposts describe the incident with extremely dramatic wording, including claims that a “drunk mom” was tossing her baby.

But the original reporting is more complicated.

Police identified two women who were arrested: Brianna Lafoe and Sierrah Newell.

The initial reports did not establish in the same way that one of them was simply “the mother” as some social-media captions now suggest.

Because the case is being reposted years later, viewers should be careful about treating every caption attached to the footage as verified information.

WHAT WE CAN CONFIRM

The documented facts are clear on several important points.

The incident happened in Daytona Beach, Florida, in September 2023.

It occurred near the Coyote Ugly Saloon.

Two women, Brianna Lafoe and Sierrah Newell, were arrested.

Police said witnesses reported that the women were aggressively handling and tossing a baby.

Video footage was reviewed by police.

The child was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Reports said the child had red marks and an X-ray finding that could indicate a broken arm.

Lafoe also faced a battery charge involving a witness.

WHAT WE CANNOT CONFIRM FROM THE VIRAL VIDEO ALONE

The short clip circulating today does not provide the entire story.

It does not by itself establish everything that happened before the recording began, what happened afterward, or the ultimate legal outcome of the case.

It also should not be treated as evidence that every statement in a social-media caption is accurate.

The safest way to understand the video is to compare it with the original police reporting and contemporary news coverage.

THE BOTTOM LINE

The shocking bodycam video circulating online is connected to a real 2023 case in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Two women were arrested after police said they had been aggressively handling and tossing a baby outside a bar.

The child was taken to a hospital, and one woman also faced a battery allegation involving a witness.

But there is an important detail many viral reposts leave out:

THIS IS NOT A NEW 2026 INCIDENT.

The footage and the underlying case date back to September 2023.

As the video continues circulating, viewers should distinguish between what police and contemporary reporting documented and the more sensational claims added by social-media pages.

A disturbing bodycam video is circulating online again, showing the aftermath of a 2023
